Just One Question.

How can you define
H a P P i N e S s?
Things that I should feel great about during this holiday season:
1. I now have a passport…
2. …and a savings account!
3. My Sony Cybershot W-50
4. My Starbucks‘ 2007 Planner (too bad it doesn’t have the coupons anymore!)
5. Bam-Bam
6. My 13th-month pay (which half of it was used to pay my debts!)
7. My I-Pod Nano (bf’s gift)
8. this note…
*it read: Dear Meg, Merry X’mas & a Happy New Year…From, Mama (bf’s mom)
9. was able to spend the Noche Buena and the Christmas Day with my family
10. was STILL valid to claim the Aguinaldo from my grandparents & ninang
(even though I already make my own money…hmmm, talking about "garapalan" huh?!)
11. had gone on VGH again (after long years of waiting…hehe!!)
12. still have the people that I love and care about
Ang eksena: naglalakad ako sa baba ng Enterprise papasok for my 11pm shift at nakita ko si Bong (B) at Macky (M)…
Ako: O, ba’t nandito kayo? First break?!
B: Hinde, pinauwi na kaming lahat. Wala nang tao sa floor.
Ako: Di nga?!
M: Oo, sira yung system. Walang Nortel. Restarting simula pa kaninang 10am. Dahil dun sa lindol. Nasira daw yung pipeline ng router eh.
Ako: Seryoso?!
B & M: OO NGA!!!
Mag-file na kayo ng VGH (short for Voluntary Go Home or Downtime).
bf: Talaga?! Sige Tsong, inum tayo!!!
Ako: Panu yan, wala akong dalang cash ngayon?!
bf: Akumbahala sayo…basta, file tayo!
after 45mins…tinawag kami ni TL, draw lots nalang daw para fair dahil 6 agents lang ang pwede niyang i-let go. so to cut the long story short–nabunot kaming dalawa!
haha!! maling akala. miracle happens.
Just had one of my memorable conversations w/ strangers…
Manong (taxi) Driver [MD]: tinanggihan kayo nung isang taxi?
last Monday, I was exerting all my effort to convince beau to watch HAPPY FEET (I love baby Mumble!) with me at the Greenbelt cinema (sa kadahilanang may 2 free movie tickets kami courtesy of Citibank’s promo)–and heck, he was captivated by my charm. so there…we planned to meet up by 3:30pm at Starbucks G4. while I’m still on my way, beau called me and said that he was already there. I was almost dragging myself to Starbucks when I found out that he’s at somewhere looking for something. ayun, nagkaron lang naman ako ng idea na hintayin siya sa tabi ng escalator…at nang makita kong may bitbit na naman siyang paper bag, tinaasan ko lang siya ng kilay (primarily because I help him do his budget when it comes to shopping or buying stuffs). anyway, to cut the long story short–he handed me the paper bag and greeted me "Merry Christmas, Babe!" (sabay biglang bati ng "Happy Birthday and Happy Valentine’s Day na rin"). the thing is, na-shock ako sa laman ng paper bag..’coz I think what he just gave me is way too much.
But what really struck me the most is to know that he values me more than anything in this world.
this is all I do since Saturday.
will just make a quick run through my weekend…
last Sat, Nov. 25…around 7am, Tita Sue submitted the application for my passport. it was a one-day-process…so after I passed all the documents needed, the officers advised me to come back around 3pm to claim my renewed passport. so what we (moi, bf, Tita Sue, Tita Jojo [bf's aunt] & his couz) did, we went off to Festival Mall to have lunch (at Cabalen), at Tita Sue’s expense (again). right after lunch, we did some "window-shopping". guess what did I purchase?! This.
I am so happy, yes I am.
have been planning to buy one (as a x’mas, bday & Vday’s gift for myself) since October–but not until I get my 13th month pay. geez! ’twas all bf’s idea. we were in this gadget store, when I saw Sony’s print ad. I asked him to come with me and take a look. And the next thing I know, we’re at the counter claiming my new purchase.
in just one day, I got two important stuffs. woo-hoo!!!
Last Sat, I went to Rozelle, Diane & Tine’s birthday party (along with beau). medjo nabawasan lang yung budget ko for allowance dahil bumili kami ng Bailey’s (as a gift)…nevertheless, I was still able to save (since 3 kaming naghati dun para gift na rin namin dun sa celebrants). the party was okay…sobrang dami ng food: 3 kinds of pancit (bihon, luglog & palabok), siomai, tokwa’t baboy, lumpiang shanghai , chicken lollipops & papaitan (obviously for pulutan) and as for dessert..TL brought a cake; for the drinks naman: Coke, 5 cases of SanMig Light, 2 cases of Red Horse grande, 2 bottles of Jose Cuervo, 1 bottle of Bailey’s at di ko lang sure kung ilang bottle ng Absolut Vodka ang meron. ’twas a whole lot of fun (lalo na nung inikot na yung shot ng tequilla!). was able to talk to Tine…ang tagal ng chikahan namin. really miss talking to her about what’s in and out and what’s the latest issue–not in showbiz, but in the office. haha!! but since she has to entertain her guests, we had to cut our stories—until the 3 of our friends came in (tuloy ang chikahan!!!).
a few people from our office told me that they feel happy whenever they see me and beau together. kasi daw sa lahat ng couples sa office, kami lang daw yung malamig sa mata tignan (or others have said "hindi makati sa mata") and some noticed that we’re not that showy in terms of our affection–in short, di kami PDA. and with all those comments, many have told us that they are sure beau and I will end up with each other–forever. isn’t it nice to hear those things from the people around you, especially if some of them aren’t that close to you? i’m just thinking.
had to leave the party at 12mn to catch some ZZZzzz’s. got to get up early for my Sunday’s itinerary: Shopping with beau and his folks at 168 mall.
this was really my first time to bond with his mum for the whole day. they fetched me from the LRT2 Recto station around 9:15am and from there, we head off to our destination.
I really had fun doing shopping with my bf. lalo na when it comes to tiangge’s or something to that effect. pareho naming binabarat ng sobra yung mga tindera! hahaha!! our budget was only P3,000 (each of us), pero nagulat yung mum niya sa dami ng nabili namen. and btw, I was able to buy the complete season of FRIENDS for only P400 as well as SOUTHPARK for only P250!! good buy, huh?!
we had lunch at Binondo, can’t remember the name of the place…basta ang alam ko, sa Chinatown siya. Boy! would you believe it’s my first time to go there?! sabi ko nga kay bf, kuhanan niya ako ng pic in front of the arch para ilalagay ko dito sa blog ko..kaso djahe naman, ang dami kasing tao.
during lunch, this was when I realized how beau is so pampered by his mum (di naman yung effect na mama’s boy)…na yung dapat ko sigurong ma-feel eh to be pressured. nako! kung tutuusin, para akong dumadaan sa butas na karayom..dahil unico hijo ang bf ko at nasa harap ko ang nanay niyang mahal na mahal siya (goodluck naman sa’kin diba?!). well, lucky me…dahil hindi ganun yun. his mum is sooooo accomodating. she treats me as if i’m already part of the family (in a way, I am naman–but not officially). palagi pa nga niyang binubuko sa’kin yung anak niya. basta, I’m so thankful that she’s the mother of beau.
we finished our activity at 4:30pm. then, Tita Susie (bf’s mum) suggested to take me home (of course with beau, his couz and aunt). medjo tinamaan lang ako ng hiya kasi instead na dumirecho na sila ng Las PiƱas, nag-out of the way pa sila sa Cainta. so there, when we reached our house…nagkita-kita pa sila ng parents ko, so may konting chikahan pa. they go along well naman and I’m just glad that me and beau are in this kind of set-up. no complications!
Last Friday night, I was able to spend it with my girlfriends (Michi, Donna & Karla). Realized how it is to have a strong friendship after 12 long years.
We were making plans for it since Monday of last week & I suggested to just spend the eve at Jay-J’s (along Julia Vargas Rd.)…so the four of us could have endless chit-chats and food trip (without hurting our pockets). At least I thought all of us agreed with my suggestion…but at the last minute, they just decided to skip Jay-J’s and proceed to El Pescador (at Metrowalk). So there, we enjoyed the acoustic music played by the 2 bands, ordered 5 pica-picas and each of us finished a bottle of Smirnoff Ice. And since it was so difficult for us to share our chikas because of the loud music, we left the bar and drove off to Starbucks Tiendesitas (treat naman ni Donna eh…heehee!!).
Our level of conversation now is very different tham what we had 10years & 5years ago in terms of maturity. I’d say the three of them.
To Donna, Karla & Michelle: I love you girls! and I’m thankful that we have each other. still, nothing beats cool squad!! *lol*!!
friends forever.
